"I KILLED MY BABY. THINGS WERE VERY DARK IN MY WORLD."

I remember when I suffered daily from the effects of my abortion. I had thoughts of how old the baby would be, what he/she might look like, and flash backs to the horrible events of that life changing day. But, the more consuming thoughts came from guilt, condemnation, and wondering how God could forgive me. I often came to the conclusion that if He did forgive me, then there would be no way I could forgive myself. I had killed my own baby. Things were very dark in my world.

Can you relate to any of these thoughts? Do they sound familiar to you? If it does, will you let me show you a diamond that sparkles in the midst of those black and dark thoughts?

When a jeweler shows a diamond they usually place it on background that is dark in order for the brilliance and clarity of the diamond to be seen. The dark piece is way bigger than the diamond itself, but where does the eye takes its focus? Does it focus on the massive piece of dark background?

No, it looks to the wonderful brilliance and sparkle of the little tiny gem! There is a diamond for you to look at in the midst of your darkness. There is a sparkling gem with a radiance of beauty that can shine in the midst of your black thoughts. Not only can it shine in those black thoughts, this diamond will deliver you from those thoughts. It will captivate your attention so that you cease to see any blackness at all.

THIS DIAMOND THAT I AM SPEAKING OF IS NAMED JESUS!

When you look at Him memories fade. They cannot stand in the midst of the bright shining light of love that radiates from His face. His power and His love are bigger than your abortion. He wants you to take your eyes off of “abortion” and look at Him. You are beautiful to Him. You are His beloved daughter. And He freely offers to you freedom, restoration, and peace.

CAN YOU SEE HIM?

He is the resurrected High Priest, Lord of Lords, King of Kings sitting and making intercession for you at the right hand of the Father. He has the only man made thing in heaven. What is the only man made thing in heaven at this moment? Look closely and you will see, it is "THE WOUNDS IN HIS HANDS." And He allowed them to be put there because of His great love for you. Put your eyes on Jesus and you will see that there is no condemnation for you. There is no shame, guilt, judgment, or a heavy heart for you to carry. All of those things were put on Him at the cross of Calvary. It was at the cross that Jesus was made into your sin and He took the punishment that you deserve. The wrath of a holy and just God fell upon Him and His body. The wrath of a holy and just God was lashed out upon Him as He hung on that cross. Every stoke of judgment that should have been placed upon you fell upon Him. He took your place. There is no self-punishment that you could place upon yourself for aborting your baby that could compare to the punishment that He bore on your behalf. Any self-punishment you might inflict upon yourself, pales in comparison to that of what He endured for you. He endured it for you so that you would have right standing with the Father.

THE PERFECT REDEMPTION FOR YOU...

The prophet Isaiah spoke of Jesus and our redemption. (see Isaiah 61:1-3,7.10) He wrote of us and called us “oaks of righteousness” and saw us as being “clothed with garments of salvation, covered with a robe of righteousness” and adorned with a “diadem of beauty instead of ashes” anointed with “the oil of joy instead of mourning.” And it is Jesus our wonderful redeemer who made this possible. He is the precious gem shining in the midst of your darkness. And you can pick up this radiant gem out of the darkness and put it on. When you put Him on, the darkness around you will fade. Jesus gives you a garment of salvation and a robe of righteousness. Think of that sweet daughter! The heaviness and the weight of your abortion drops to the floor to be trampled by your feet when you put on your robe of righteousness. The ugliness you have been wearing yields to beauty because He crowns you with a royal headband of beauty. And along with these wonderful garments from heaven comes a heavenly anointing from the oil of joy. The overwhelming sadness and grief unspeakable cannot stay within you when this oil drips down your temple. Stop and think of what that is like. Imagine the oil placed on your brow. You can feel the warmth of it on your skin penetrating into your being. And breathing in the sweet smelling aroma brightens your countenance.

Sweet daughter, when the dark thoughts of shame, guilt, and sadness start rolling in, you remember that you have a radiant stunning diamond to look at. Take your eyes off the blackness and see Jesus shining back at you. This is how you overcome the effects of your abortion. You will be healed, whole, and complete because He made a perfect redemption for you.
